Lake Casitas Fishing Guide Report 09-03-2016 … Here it is Saturday morning of the Labor Day weekend and this morning we experienced some very good topwater fishing at Lake Casitas in Ventura California. As the fall season approaches us were are beginning to see the shad start to move toward some of the coves and pockets as there was quite a bit of schooling action with numerous topwater boils all throughout the morning. I will be leaving to fish my 34th consecutive U.S. Open on Wednesday, September 8 and returning on September 15. My great staff will take care of business while I'm away. Jim Taibi my full-time fishing guide at Castaic Lake and Pyramid Lake reports steady fishing and is focusing most of his attention on striped bass. There's a good mix of topwater fishing and fish on the troll at both reservoirs. Castaic Lake is full of water and now that the Labor Day weekend will be behind us here in a few days we should start to experience little to no boat traffic on both Castaic Lake and Pyramid Lake especially on weekdays. We have always explained to our fishing guide clients that fall is absolutely the premier time to fish striped bass at Castaic Lake and Pyramid Lake. It's just a classic time of season with a mixture of live shad, topwater fishing, and fish on the troll for all of our striped bass anglers. Fisherman interested in fishing for largemouth bass will spend the day with me at Lake Casitas in Ventura California and anglers interested in fishing for striped bass will spend the day with Jim Taibi at Castaic Lake or Pyramid Lake. Anglers interested in booking a fishing trip can call or text us at 818-439-1154. As always we supply everything that you need for your fishing day. The striped bass are fantastic to eat and we focus on on this during our trips. We recommend our anglers bring an ice chest to bring striped bass home to eat as they are fantastic table fair.
