Lake Casitas Fishing Guide Report 06/27/2016 – After months and months of absolutely vodka clear water at Lake Casitas we're beginning to see our first little bit of color in the water. Over this past weekend we noticed that there are some areas starting to experience a small amount of algae bloom. This is normal for Lake Casitas in the summertime and should bode well for the shallow water plastic worm fish that were catching. Without question our best technique has been a drop shot plastic worm fished up in the grass in less than 15 feet of water. We're also mixing it up with a just a little bit of topwater fishing early in the morning or on lowlight days. If we get some marine layer or fog off the beach that helps our topwater action. Water temp is setting at 73° and grass fields can be seen all throughout Lake Casitas. We have two boats to choose from our 21 foot Phoenix bass boat and a beautiful 20 foot G3 fishing pontoon boat which has a Bimini top to offer some great shade for those people that are interested in staying out of the sun. As always we will have all of your rods reels and tackle ready when you arrive and there is bottled water ice pack and snacks on board all of our fishing trips.
