Lake Casitas Bass Fishing Guide Report 1/25/2016 – Something new for our Lake Casitas bass fishing guide clients we would like to be able to post the results from our fishing tournaments this season. As many of you know I run the Western outdoor news bass fishing tournaments at Lake Casitas. I've done this for the last five or six years and I know many of you will be interested in how some of the better fisherman on the lake perform at this world famous fishery. Below are the results from our Lake Casitas bass fishing tournament on 1/16/2016.
Evans/Newman capture victory and stronghold on AOY Casitas 1/16 …
With 19 teams on hand Brian Evans and Matt Newman got back to their winning ways and captured victory and took dead aim at the 2016 WON BASS Casitas Region Angler of the Year title. With five bass totaling 19.82 pounds Brian described the victory as "everything just seemed to go right" and their win propelled them to the top of the point standings with a commanding six point lead over the field. Brian and Matt collected a whopping $2,330.00 in cash for the victory. In second place was the team of Cody Cook and Parker Marquez as they put a 14.08 pound bag of bass on the scales to collect a smooth $990.00 in cash for their days work. They rolled up on one spot and caught three quick fish on a reaction bait to move their day in the right direction. Rounding out the money the list were 2015 Eric Elshere Memorial cup champions Ryan Mabery and James Tate with three bass weighing 8.02 pounds and collected $500.00 in cash for their efforts and beautiful third place trophies. The next stop on the WON BASS “Casitas Region” tournament trail is February 6, 2016.
