Fshing remains excellent at Pyramid Lake but we can definitely see that netting live shad for bait is going to get tougher each and every day. We noticed a marked difference in the volumes of threadfin shad up on the shallow flats of Pyramid Lake. The positive note is that the shad regardless of there size all produces. We had very nice weather this week and some of our trips had up 20 stripe bass per day. Water temperature is 59°. There was a pretty severe storm on December 12, 2014 and the temperatures dropped quite a bit. We'll keep our eye on this as we go to work this week. There are three basic techniques that are now working for the striped bass. There is a bite on trolled umbrella rigs anywhere from 5 to 25 feet deep. Anglers can also catch the stripers casting Alabama rigs when the fish are located. We continue to have our best fishing in 25 feet of water on live shad fished with a split shot right on the bottom.
