The fishing is really really remarkable for the month of January usually this time of year we are having some of our toughest fishing of the season. Just the raw volume of fish in the lake has changed that. Anglers can still go out and catch 15 or 20 fish in the course of a day and in January that’s pretty much unheard of. Today we just finished up our trip and caught 20 fish all of them on a 4 inch purple drop shot plastic worm Robo Worm was best and the fish were sitting on isolated structures anywhere from 20 to 50 feet of water so it’s kind of interesting that there’s a good depth range in there you don’t have to be at a specific depth. We did get a trout plant at the coyote launch ramp a week ago Thursday so it’s been about 10 days and some anglers really capitalized on that there were some really nice fish caught on a variety of swim baits right around that plant. Lake level remains at 95% of capacity and the water temperature is holding steady at 58°
