The winter fishing has set in at Lake Casitas we’re still catching good numbers of fish but all of us have to get used to the winter pattern. Our Guide Service is using electronics and fishing a spoon in 30 to 50 feet of water for the majority of our fish but for the readers at Western Outdoor News they can just take a plastic worm and fish it Texas rig weedless on main lake points just fish super slow definitely all the darker colored worms the purples and some of the watermelon colors are best a 6 inch Robo Worm has been our choice just fish slowly take your time and you’ll still catch good numbers of fish in that 1-2 pound range occasionally like it’s been all year you’ll catch a really nice one between 6-7 pounds. We did get 500 pounds of trout so basically we got 500 fish planted in the lake at the coyote ramp we have already been seeing the fish all the way over by Santa Ana Creek as they’ve spread out across the lake. Bluegill and Crappie fishing is very slow
