Pretty much business as usual at Lake Casitas in Ventura California as the super solid and consistent fishing just marches along. As we reported last week it's been 2 to 3 weeks now of good solid fishing and a wide variety of techniques are all producing. When you really look at the Western drought situation Lake Casitas is really one of the best environments to be involved in at least here in Southern California. We have solid water levels at about 50% of lake capacity. I don't believe the water has dropped more than one vertical foot in the last month. I've watched several crucial spots and seen literally no difference in the water level in quite some time. We called them lily pads at Lake Casitas but it's an offspring of a Lillypad and it's still pretty cool to fish and the stuff is all throughout the lake. The Lilly's are growing super heavy on the west side of the reservoir. Once again a drop shot plastic worm and crankbait pretty much rule the day. Lots of fantastic catches and nightcrawler fishermen are also having great success also. Anglers interested in booking a fishing trip can call or text me at anytime at 818-439-1154. We have trips that run daily and several boats to choose from. Below is just typical of the fishing right now Lake Casitas. Below are three of my guide clients from yesterday morning. All of these fish were taken on a white Zip B-Switcher 4.0 crank bait. All these fish range from 4 to 6 1/2 pounds.
