We continue to have excellent fishing at Lake Casitas in Ventura California. As of this date for the most part the shad have disappeared into deeper water at Lake Casitas. We have not been able to net any sizable shad for bait for the last week or so. So therefore we are fishing artificial lures exclusively on all our bass fishing guide trips. The good news is that the lure fishing is very good right now. I have been utilizing mostly a buzzbait and spinnerbait for the entire day in most all of my guided fishing trips. It's really exciting fishing as you watch the bass attack that buzzbait as it comes over the top of grass beds at Lake Casitas. Once the wind blows in the afternoon we have been utilizing a spinnerbait over the tops of the grass with excellent results. For those of you that like to fish with artificial lures this is absolutely the time to book a bass fishing guide trip. As always all of your rods reels and tackle are ready when you arrive in the morning. There will be bottled water ice and packaged snacks on board at no extra charge. We have been starting the fishing day at 6:30 AM each day. I also have another trip that leaves at 12 noon and fishes for as long as you like. With children out of school for the summer this is a great time to bring your family and I can teach them some of the basics of casting and retrieving artificial lures. If any of you are interested in booking a guided fishing trip with me you can go to the top of this page and click the "Contact Rich Tauber" link. You can also call or text me on my personal cell phone at (818) 439-1154. As always we are open and available seven days a week to take you fishing. The weather has been absolutely wonderful and most every day we get a beautiful breeze from the ocean in the midmorning hours. We really hope to hear from you and get you out on a bass fishing guide trip at Lake Casitas.
