With summer in full swing it has been a mixed bag as we are catching bass, trout, and crappie all at Lake Casitas in Ventura California. We are catching bass on everything from a drop shot plastic worm to fishing topwater baits. Every day has been different than the day before. On some of the days when we have lots of cloud cover or a marine layer over the lake we have been focusing on fishing topwater baits. On days where we have bright sunshine we concentrate our efforts on fishing drop shot plastic worms. Grass beds are beginning to grow throughout the lake which are always a good sign when it comes to bass fishing. We have also had clients who have wanted to concentrate on crappie fishing which remains very good. Most all of our crappie fishing trips have been focusing on fishing a super small threadfin shad on a split shot or using a small crappie jig. Because it's summer we now offer two different fishing boats which are pictured below. For those of you that would like to come with a group of 3 to 11 people you can use our beautiful new G3 fishing pontoon boat. For anglers that would like to fish alone or just bring one friend we have our beautiful 21 foot Phoenix bass boat. You can pick from either one of the two boats pictured above and you can call or text me at anytime at 818-439-1154. Anglers can also email me at the contact link at the top of the page. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you soon.
