The fishing really ramped up this week at Lake Casitas. Without question this was far and away the best week of fishing our fishing guide service has had all year. We really zeroed in on what the fish were doing this week and had incredible catches of 3 to 7 pound bass all week long. The key is finding the right kind of bait to make a really good string of fish. We're fishing on the anchor and flylinning live shad on 6 pound test line. The key is to get the quality size "hook" baits. We had three days in a row where our best five fish totaled 25 pounds. These are fish coming directly off the spawn and are in a post spawn feeding mode. The fish are schooled and roaming in certain areas of the lake gorging themselves on live shad. The fishing will remain good for 2 to 3 more weeks like this. Anglers interested in booking a fishing trip can contact me at Rich Tauber fishing.com or text me at 818-439-1154.
Below is Josh and his father John as they struggle to lift a 25 pound limit of bass topped by Josh's 7 pounder. All of these fish were caught on April 2, 2015 while on a guided fishing trip with Rich Tauber at Lake Casitas. After the photo all the fish were released back into Lake Casitas to fight again.
