With absolutely fantastic weather this week the largemouth bass at Lake Casitas flooded the shallow water areas and can be caught on a variety of techniques. With visual spawning beds all over the lake the season is in full swing and you can pretty much pick your style of fishing if you concentrate your efforts in that 2 to 12 foot zone. The majority of our guide clients this week caught there fish on a drop shot plastic worm and sight fishing. On an interesting sidenote we are starting to see some packs of shad swimming in shallow water and it's my feeling that in the next 1 to 2 weeks we're going to start netting live threadfin shad to use for bait. Virtually no wind at all this week and temperatures tapped into the 90° zone over the weekend. Anglers can always reach me at www.RichTauberFishing.com.
And here is Don Stevens with a beautiful 6 pound largemouth bass that he caught on a drop shot plastic worm in Deep Cat Canyon on his bass fishing guide trip this week with Rich Tauber.
