Spring has arrived and the bass at Lake Casitas have now begun to move into shallow water. The water temperature is in the low 60s and with the upcoming full moon on March 8th Lake Casitas will be the first lake in Southern California the have bass up on the spawning beds. For the most part the bass have been located in waters anywhere from 40 to 5 feet deep. It seems as though a Senko and a split shot have been the absolute best ways to go about attacking the bass at Lake Casitas. We have guide trips running seven days a week. Trips leave at 7 AM each morning. And we also have a trip that leaves at 12 noon and fishes until 4 PM. All of your tackle, rods, reels, and lures are waiting for you when you arrive. The Marina Café opens at 6 AM for breakfast and many of my clients have been going in and having breakfast in the morning prior to the 7 AM start to the fishing day. The mornings have been very cool, but the afternoons have been absolutely wonderful with temperatures in the mid-70's basically every day. This is the time of year that all bass anglers wait for, the spring bass fishing season. Well it's upon us! This is a wonderful time to book a trip as the fishing in March and April at Lake Casitas is absolutely world-famous. As always you will be fishing out of my 2010 model year, 21 foot Phoenix bass boat. Bottled water, ice, and packaged snacks are all on board each and every day at no extra cost. You can go to the contact Rich Tauber link at the top of the page to contact me via e-mail. Or you can call or text me at (818) 439-1154. We look forward to getting you out for some beautiful spring bass fishing. Hope to see you soon!
