The bass fishing at Lake Cachuma remains very steady we are still catching good numbers of fish in the 1 – 3 pound range and definitely it seems like the fish remain in that 20 to 40 foot zone. Water temperature was 62° this week. As most anglers know Cachuma has northern strain largemouth bass which react well to cool temperatures so this is always been a good choice for bass anglers who enjoy winter time fishing. Robo Worm fished on points and ledges in that 20 to 40 foot range has been best and those anglers that are good fishing with a jig a brown and purple jig was very good this week. The trout fishing has been pretty difficult for us we had a large trout plant of 4000 pounds about 10 days ago but we’re having difficulty catching them right now…hopefully they’ll stabilize and will have some better reports on the trout fishing next week we haven’t been fishing for or any bluegill or crappie in any fashion for the last month now.
