The best bass fishing I have seen in three years! That's the best way for me to describe what's going on right now at Castaic Lake in Southern California. With almost perfect weather conditions, and few if any boats on the lake, the bass fishing is been absolutely terrific. Now let me make this clear, the lure fishing is very poor. The hot ticket without question is fishing with live shad on the flyline. We have been going out each morning and netting live threadfin shad for bait. We have been doing this in the early morning hours when the water is clear and the shad are easy to spot. We have been fishing the shad on a spinning rod with 6 pound test line and a #4 Daiichi drop shot hook. Most of my clients or catching anywhere from 10 to 60 largemouth bass a day. Absolutely phenomenal catches. This is absolutely the best time for you and your family to enjoy some of the best fishing that we have seen in quite some time. We are open for business seven days a week. And there are half, and full-day trips available. We are beginning our day at 7:30 AM each morning. When you arrive all your fishing rods, reels, and tackle are ready to go. As always, there's bottled water, ice, and packaged snacks on board all at no extra charge. Prices start at $225 per day, and everything you could possibly need for your day of fishing is included. This is a great time to bring children, and family, as fishing with live shad is very simple, yet super productive. You can always e-mail me at the contact Rich Tauber link at the top of the page. Or you can call me on my cell phone at (818) 439-1154. Castaic Lake is one of the most famous bass fishing reservoirs in Southern California and it is certainly living up to its reputation. We really hope that you get the chance to go out on a guided bass fishing trip with me as this is some of the bass fishing you will experience for quite some time. Hope to see you soon!
