Lake Casitas Bass Fishing Guide Report 03/14/2016 – The fantastic fishing continues at Lake Casitas and I was able to net my first bag of live threadfin shad of the season. The water took on a small amount of color this week with a rain storm that passed through the area Friday. A drop shot plastic worm, jig, and sight fishing remain the key techniques. With a full moon set for March 23 we are expecting another strong wave of fish to move into shallow water to spawn. Just in the last 3 to 4 days we've really noticed a large number of fish that are post spawn and are starting to push shad into shallow pockets and we expect to start netting bait on a regular basis here in the next week or two. Right now it takes a bit of work but there are small patches of shad that we can net from this day forward. Below is Daniel who fished with me twice last week at Lake Casitas. Here is a picture from Thursday March 10 as he holds up a small part of his catch taken on live threadfin shad and sight fishing.
