Castaic Lake remains the top bass fishing choice for the holiday season here in Southern California. The water level is super high and crystal clear. There are two basic approaches at Castaic Lake right now. Fish the live shad and glass minnows, or chase the breaking fish that are popping up at various times during the day. I have been netting live bait in the mornings and using it on the trips that involve kids and family. For the lure guys, we have been fishing a brown jig on 15# line, and a Super Spook when the fish come up and break shad on the surface of the water. I am avaiable 7 days a week during this holiday season. We are starting out most of the trips at 7am each morning. I also offer a guided bass fishing trip from 11am to 3pm each day. It's a 4 hour bass fishing trip that is real popular duing the Fall/Winter months that takes advantage of the warm afternoon sun. All soda, bottled water, ice, and packaged snacks are included in your chartered fishing trip at no extra charge. The weather has been wonderful when you keep your eye on the weather forcast and pick a nice day. I will have all your tackle, rods, reels, and lures ready for you when you arrive. If you would like to book a trip this holiday season, please give me a call at (818) 439-1154 or email me at the "Contact Rich" link at the top of the screen. I know that many of you have relatives in town for the holidays, it would be my pleasure to take them out fishing and enjoy a great day on the water. I wish you a great Thanksgiving, and I look forward to hearing from you!
