There up!!!! The Bass at Lake Casitas are starting to move into shallow water. With this recent band of great weather, the water temperature has risen to almost 63° in the afternoon. With the full moon approaching on February 19th, we could see our first set of spawning fish this season. The water is crystal clear, you can see almost 12 feet deep in places. Without question the best fishing seems to be in the afternoon. And without question the best lure has been a Senko. We are fishing the Senko on 8 pound green monofilament line and a spinning rod. Almost all of our fishing has been an 0 to 10 feet of water as the fish cruise shallow water looking to pair up for the spawning season. The lake opens each morning at 6:30 AM. The Marina Café also opens at 6:30 AM. This is one of the finest times of the Bass fishing season, and is a great time to book a guided fishing trip on this wonderful Southern California Bass fishing reservoir. Lake Casitas is known for its tremendous site fishing in the spring. Lake Casitas is one of the very first bass lakes in southern California to warm up as it is almost at sea level. Without question this is the very best choice for Bass fishing in February. You can call me at (818) 439-1154 to book a fishing trip, or reach me at the contact "Contact Rich Tauber" link at the top of the page. There has virtually been no wind and the weather has been fantastic. I am available for guided fishing trips seven days a week. For 1-3 anglers we are fishing out of my brand new 2010 Phoenix 721 custom bass boat. And if you have a group of 4 to 10 anglers, we are using our 21 foot custom pontoon boat. We would love to have you come up and visit us at Lake Casitas. I will be your personal fishing guide for the day. We provide all fishing tackle, rods, and reels. The boat will have ice, bottled water, soda, and packaged snacks on board each day, all no extra charge. I am here to help you enjoy great day on the water with friends, and family. Look forward to seeing you soon!
