The bass are up at Lake Casitas! That's right folks, the bass have moved into shallow water to spawn at Lake Casitas in Southern California. The movement happened on March 2nd. By the weekend of March 3 we began seeing lots of bass up on shallow flats beginning the spawning process. If you enjoy sight fishing this is absolutely your cuppa tea. The weather has been fantastic, with temperatures in the mid-70s each and every day. This is 100% lure fishing, with the best bet being plastic worms, Senko's, and tubes fished in shallow water. The full moon is March 8 so we expect to have tremendous shallow water fishing for the next three months. This is absolutely a wonderful time to book a guided fishing trip. The lake opens each morning at 6 AM. The Marina Café is open for breakfast when the lake opens each morning. We are beginning our guided fishing trips at 7 AM each day. We also have a trip that leaves at 12 noon and returns at four o'clock in the afternoon. As always, all of your fishing rods, reels, and lures are rigged and ready for you when you arrive. I also wanted to let you all know that once again I will have a booth at the Fred Hall fishing tackle show in Long Beach which runs March 7-11. My booth " Rich Tauber Fishing" is located in the 400 isle just as you enter the main fishing Hall. I will also be conducting seminars each and every day at the Fred Hall show on how to catch bass at Lake Casitas. This is our busiest time of year in the guide fishing business and dates are filling up quickly. Please feel free to call me on my personal cell phone at (818) 439-1154 or you can e-mail me through the "Contact Rich Tauber" link at the top of the page. Good fishing to all, and I hope I see you real soon!
