Lake Cachuma Report: Our guide Steve Morris has been focusing his efforts on bass for the most part and also starting to catch some really nice smallmouth bass. You would think this would be a time we would focus on trout fishing but it’s been a little bit difficult for us most of the trout there are being caught trolling lead core fishing in deeper water which is a bit unusual but that seems to be the most consistent pattern. The bass fishing remains plastic worms fished in that 25 to 35 foot level and of course Robo Worm has been our choice. It’s been pretty much solid plastic worm fishing there throughout the winter and lots of the fish are in that 1/2 to 2 1/2 pound class water level is steady at 88% of capacity www.richtauberfishing.com
