Lake Casitas in Ventura, CA has some good bass fishing right now but what's making it extra fun is the influx of thousands of pounds of Nebraska Tailwalker Trout. It's kind of crazy as were catching just as many bass as we are big trout and we are catching them on the same lures that we are using to fish for bass. One of the biggest trout plants of the season is scheduled for November 20th, 2012 and a great majority of the trout that will be planted are from 2 to 12 pounds. These are non-fertile Nebraska Tailwalker's and we encourage all of our clients to keep the trout as they are great table fare. This is a great time of year as we will have customers catching a bass on one cast and a trout on another cast, and all on the same lure! Both the bass and the trout have been in relatively shallow water and small shad imitation crank baits have been the most productive. Like I said these Nebraska Tailwalker's are non-fertile fish, they are not going to reproduce so therefore you don't have to feel guilty about taking a beautiful fish home to have for dinner. With the holiday season upon us this is a great time to book a bass fishing guide trip at Lake Casitas. We are starting every morning at 7am. I have half day trips that fish from 7am till 11am. I also have another half day trip that begins at 12 noon and fishes until 4pm in the afternoon. Once again we have all of your rods, reels, and tackle ready when you arrive. Just come as you are and we take care of all the rest. Lake Casitas is a wonderful place for a bass fishing charter as it is close to the Los Angeles area and is absolutely beautiful at this time of year. We have virtually perfect weather and little to no wind all throughout the fall season. You can also book a full-day eight hour bass fishing guide trip with me at Lake Casitas and those start at 7am and return to the dock at 3pm. There is always bottled water, ice, and packaged snacks on board on all fishing trips. About the only thing that you need to bring is a big smile and a warm jacket. Of course we are open seven days a week and my new 21 foot Phoenix bass boat will be waiting at the dock when you arrive. For those of you that would like to have breakfast before you go out on your bass fishing guide trip at Lake Casitas, the Marina Café is open for breakfast at 6am. If you have any questions or would like to book the fishing trip you can reach me at the "Contact Rich Tauber" link at the top of the page. Of course you can always call me or text me on my cell phone at (818) 439-1154. Like I said this is a wonderful time to book a bass fishing guide trip and we have some wonderful action on both bass and Nebraska Tailwalker trout. Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope to see you soon!
