The shad fishing continues at Lake Casitas in Ventura California. We continue to have lots of live shad for bait each and every day for fishing trips. This is without question the best way to put together a beautiful catch a bass for the day. The water temperature is 74 degrees and the water is very very clear. The weather has been absolutely beautiful this month and the fishing has been very good. For those of you that like to use lures on your fishing trip the absolute best bait has been a jerkbait especially a large jerkbait as the fish prefer a large threadfin shad. The best jerkbait has been a shad colored three hook model. Almost anyone can fish with this live bait and it results in a lot of fun for fisherman that have limited success when going bass fishing. As always we supply all the rods, reels and tackle that you will need for the fishing day. We have trips that leave at 7 AM in the morning and another trip that leaves at 12 noon. These are both half-day fishing trips which are four hours long. The boat is in the water just steps away from the Marina Café which serves fantastic food from breakfast through dinner. We have a full day fishing trip that leaves each and every day at 7:30 AM and returns at 3:30 PM. There is always bottled water, ice, and packaged snacks on board all fishing trips at no extra charge. Prices range from $225 for one person for a half day fishing trip, to $400 total price for two anglers to spend a full eight hours on the water. Like I said we are fishing Lake Casitas in Ventura California and the weather has been absolutely fantastic. The morning trips require a nice warm jacket in the morning, and the afternoons have been absolutely beautiful. You basically can come just the way you are other than a jacket probably the only other thing that you will need is a hat and some sunglasses. You can reach me at the "Contact Rich Tauber" link at the top of the page which will take you to my direct e-mail. You can also call or text me at any time at (818) 439-1154.
