We continue to have very good fishing at Lake Casitas in Ventura California. Most all of our bass fishing guide clients are experiencing good fishing right now Lake Casitas and we're catching the bass in a variety of ways. We still have live shad that we are able to net in the early morning hours and use this life bait with pretty good success. The anglers that choose to use the life bait have been fishing in on a light spinning rod with 6 pound test line and flylining the shad with absolutely no weight. We also have some very good lure fishing and a variety of baits are working well. Probably the most consistent fishing technique has been fishing a drop shot plastic worm on main lake points. We have been positioning our fishing guide clients on main lake points and fishing the plastic worm uphill. The fish are holding in 25 feet of water just outside the weed beds that are growing throughout the entire Lake. It seems like a Robo Worm has been the best plastic worm and the best color has been any version of brown or purple. We have some very good top water fishing in the early morning hours and also on days that we have a heavy marine layer. We have been catching the fish on a white buzzbait over the top of the grass and it's resulted in some very exciting fishing. Once the wind blows in the afternoon we have also been utilizing a spinnerbait and fishing the outside edges of the grass with very good results. As always we are open seven days a week to take fisherman on our guided fishing trips. Anglers can always call or text me on my personal cell phone at area code (818) 439-1154. As always we have all of your fishing rods reels and tackle all set up and prepared for you each and every morning. There is no need for you to bring anything at all on these fishing guide trips. We make sure that everything is rigged and ready for you to make this a fun and easy experience. We tell most of our clients to just bring a sweatshirt for the early morning hours and most of the clients fish with shorts, tennis shoes, and a T-shirt during the midday hours. It's always a good idea to bring a hat and sunglasses as they are probably the two most important pieces of equipmen. We have sunscreen on board and of course we have bottled water, ice and packaged snacks on board on every bass fishing guide trip at Lake Casitas. We are experiencing nice cool onshore winds most every afternoon. The cool breeze blows toward the shore from the Pacific Ocean and we get this beautiful cool breeze from the cool waters of the ocean. You will be fishing on a 21 foot Phoenix bass boat which is considered a state-of-the-art boat for bass fishing. I meet most of our fishing guide clients inside the Marina Café each and every morning. The café serves a great breakfast and is a nice place to meet in the morning. My boat is in the water ready to go just steps away from the café. At the end of the fishing day we pull directly up to the dock and you can step off the boat and go on with the rest of your plans for the day. It's a great time of year with beautiful weather and I really look forward to having you come spend a day with me at Lake Casitas in Ventura California. This is a great time to book a fishing guide trip and enjoy some of the tremendous fishing that Lake Casitas has to offer.
