We have been netting live shad for bait with our guide clients since Thursday, April 10, 2012. It all started Wednesday evening and Thursday morning as we began to see herds of threadfin shad move into shallow water at Lake Casitas in Ventura California. There's lots of birdlife that came out of nowhere and showed up at Casitas along with the live threadfin. It's just crazy right now. There are so many great things going on all at the same time. We have sight fishing all over the lake with ultra clearwater. We have lots of bass being caught on the drop shot plastic worm. We have lots of bass being caught on a dead stick Senko in 3 to 12 feet of water. We have tons of Redear perch that is moved in shallow water and will bite a nightcrawler fished on a drop shot rig. It's just crazy we have such good fishing right now that I'm not really sure which way to turn with my guide clients. There are so many ways to catch fish right now. Anyone interested in getting in on the action at Lake Casitas can call or text Rich Tauber fishing at 818-439-1154. Anglers can also go to RichTauberfishing.com and book a fishing trip. They are open seven days a week and have two bass boats and a brand-new 2014 G3 fishing pontoon boat to use for group fishing trips.
