Well as most of you know Castaic Lake has been drawing the water down consistently now for quite some time. This is resulted in some fairly tough fishing. To the best of our knowledge Castaic Lake will drop another 15 to 20 feet and then the water level will stabilize and then begin to rise over the next few months. The water is being taken out of Castaic lake and being pumped into Perris Lake in the Inland Empire. For those of you interested in fishing Castaic Lake we have our guides working there on a daily basis. We are open for business seven days a week. All of our bass fishing guide trips include bottle water ice and package snacks on board each boat. All of your fishing rods reels and tackle will be ready for you when you arrive. A drop shot plastic worm is still the best way to go about catching a nice bag of fish at Castaic lake. There are also fish being caught on crankbaits and spinnerbaits as there are suspended bass on the ends of main lake points. As of this point we have no life shad in the water to net but that usually happens in September and October. The last two years we have netted live shad on a consistent basis during those two months. So once again we're looking for that timeframe for those of you that are interested in fishing with live shad. Whenever you have a dropping water level it always makes for fairly difficult conditions. Once the water stops dropping at Castaic Lake we're expecting our bass fishing guide clients to experience much better success. Of course we also have fishing guides working every day at Lake Casitas in Ventura California also for any of you they're interested in booking a bass fishing guide trip at Castaic Lake or Lake Casitas in Ventura California you can call or text me at 818-439-1154. Thanks again and hope to see you soon.
