We have some very steady fishing for you to enjoy through the holiday season at Castaic Lake in Castaic California. Here's how it all came together. Based on the recent storms and a drop in theair temperatures the shad have sunk into deeper water and have disappeared from both Castaic Lake and Pyramid Lake. The incredible fishing at Pyramid Lake lasted almost 3 months but when the temperatures dropped into the mid to high 30s that was all the shad could take and we believe the shad have dropped off into deep water and are gone for the 2014 season. Now it's on to bigger and better things. Our best approach right now is casting and trolling umbrella rig for stripers they're holding in 30 feet of water at Castaic Lake. We had some excellent fishing today. Morning water temperatures are 58° and the water temperature climbs to 60° during mid day. Now let me be clear that most of Castaic Lake is very dirty as there has been a large influx of dirty water come down through the California aqueduct from these recent storms. The fishing is limited to a few specific areas. And those areas are what our guides are concentrating on. We have good steady fishing for you throughout the holidays and you can reach us at 818-439-1154. Here's a pictures from today's action on December 18, 2014.
