This monster female weighed 6 1/2 pounds and was released alive to fight another day. All of these fish were caught in less than 5 feet of water. Water temperature touched 70° in some of the pockets today. We are fishing seven days a week and have seen the water temperature rise almost 10° in the last 10 days Castaic Lake. Southern California Bass Fishing Guide’s Report 04/20/2020 - to touch 90° for the next 10 days Castaic Lake in Castaic California. Here is Walter with me this weekend and this was pretty typical of the last three days of fishing. Lots of fish in the 1 to 2 pound range in super shallow water. Fantastic to see the water level near capacity...just a few feet from the hardwood trees! Because of all the “new water” we have received the surface temperatures remains at 60°.
