Water temperature is 73° and before I start with the report one of the most important things is that I began fishing this lake in 1974 and our boat rental docks have always been the original docks since 1960. Well we got brand new boat rental docks installed this week they are absolutely fantastic. Anglers going to Lake Casitas to rent a boat will really enjoy this. It’s a narrow window of time but the shad fishing is absolutely incredible. All of the big bass that we’ve caught this week between 5-9 pounds have all been caught on live shad we have lots of our clients call us and ask please tell me when the live shad are available well this is the time and I thought your readers should know that the larger females that are getting off of the spawning process and bulking up right now on live shad.
