Fishing remain super steady Lake Casitas Ventura California there are an enormous number of fish breaking on small thumbnail size shad out in open water were using a small 2 1/2 inch Basstrix shad imitation and just fishing it with a number 4 Daiichi nose hook casting it on 6 pound test line and catching big numbers of fish for those interested in fishing plastics you can also catch some fish on a clear popper or chugger once again make sure it’s small as the the bass are feeding on really small shad. For those of our customers that want to fish live shad it’s getting more difficult to net the shad so we’re spending a little bit of time in the morning trying to net shad and if we get lucky we use it with big results.
