Just finished up a two day trip Channel Islands with Ted and his son Logan we pulled up on one kelp paddy spot locked the trolling motor and caught over 60 calico bass in a two hour period. Wound up with over 80 calico bass for the day some of the best fishing I’ve ever seen. This was a straight up beat down today Oxnard California. We caught and released over 60 sand bass and it never stopped….we actually drove away from wide open fishing at 2:30 in the afternoon because we just couldn’t take it any more 🙂 greasy slick flat ocean conditions just one of those days you’ll always remember all of these fish were released alive to fight another day. Water temperature was 54°. Absolutely wide-open sand bass fishing today Oxnard, California! Took a chance looked like the weather would be nice and it was absolutely beautiful 🙂 at times it was lake like conditions. Caught and released over 30 sand bass up to 8 pounds! Not a boat in sight. One of those perfect days. Had a mix of calico bass also..Big Hammer swimbait in a clear red flake color did lots of damage today.
